Hanover County Treasurer White Pages
The Hanover County Treasurer's Office is the custodian of all public funds in the county. Timothy R. Boschen serves as Treasurer. The office handles real estate tax, personal property tax, court and sheriff and clerk fees, license taxes, permit fees, state estimated taxes, and water and sewer charges. The office is split into three divisions. Accounting handles banking and account reconciliation. Collections handles delinquent taxes and debt. Customer Service handles current taxes, dog tag licenses, and landfill decals.

A small fee is added to credit and debit card payments. You can also create an account to log in and report changes for your records.
Logged in users can report a change of address, report a new vehicle, report a sold or moved vehicle, report high mileage, request a refund, renew a dog license, view payment history, and view tax history. Aerial photo data comes from the Virginia Geographic Information Network (VGIN), a division of the Virginia Information Technology Agency. The portal complies with Model Virginia Map Accuracy Standards from 1992 and is meant for use at 1" = 100' or 1" = 200' scale.
Parcel data is shown for general reference only. Topography, contours, property lines, or flood plain rulings should not be drawn from the GIS site under Virginia Code § 54.1-402(C). The data is proprietary and may not be resold. Property records sit under Virginia Code § 58.1-3201, which says all real property must be assessed at 100% of fair market value. Hanover White Pages FOIA Rights
The Hanover County FOIA Request page lays out a clear path to file a public records request with any department. Requests can be sent online, by U.S. Mail, fax, email, in person, or over the phone under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, Virginia Code § 2.2-3700. FOIA does not require a specific format. Written requests are helpful for clarity.

For criminal investigative files under Virginia Code § 2.2-3706.1, an extra 60 working days is allowed.
The county may charge for staff time at actual cost. The first 50 paper pages 8.5" x 11" are free. After that, copies cost $0.25 per page. There is no charge for the first eight requests in a year if each takes one hour or less. If the cost goes over $200, a 50% deposit is required. Hanover County Voting Records
The Hanover County Voting page is the front door for voter records and election info. Early voting is at the Wickham Building, 7497 County Complex Rd, 23069. Hours run Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The two Saturdays before an election the office runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Curbside voting is open. The absentee ballot drop box runs from Sept 19 to Nov 4 at 7 p.m. Voter rolls are kept under Virginia Code § 24.2-428.2.
